Assessments & Results

Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9)

A full programme of National Curriculum subjects is followed, together with Religious Education. All students study Drama and Information & Communications Technology. Personal and Social Education (PSE) classes include aspects of Citizenship.

Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11 GCSE)

A full range of GCSE courses is available covering the full National Curriculum options. Nautical Studies is a subject unique to Graham School and relevant to the school and the community. Our developing partnerships with other local education providers and companies provide a relevant and appropriate curriculum to suit all abilities.

We set high aspirations for our students that are both realistic and attainable. This has resulted in improved levels of examination success and has been recognised by the Government's Achievement Award. The school is committed to continuing this improvement.

Reports & Parents Evenings

An interim report will be sent home shortly before Christmas, indicating how the students are progressing and the level of effort they are making. Year 7 parents also have the opportunity to meet with their child's Form Tutor midway through the first term to discuss how their child has settled. Generally the school issues two reports each year to parents; a short progress report followed by a full written report. A parent/teacher consultation meeting takes place during each school year. Twice a year the school operates a 'Progress Week' for all year groups. During this week the school day finishes one hour early at 2.10pm so that Form Tutors can meet with individual students during a ten minute interview to discuss targets and progress made.
