Graham School prides itself on its inclusion strategies. All students receive appropriate support to enable them to reach their potential. The school is working towards the new Quality Mark for Inclusion, and this will reflect a whole school approach. This includes the Curriculum, Gifted and Talented, those with Special Educational Needs and students who require flexible learning packages. All students on our role can expect support and to be included in the full life of Graham School.
The Student Support Base opened in September 2006. Heads of Year can refer students whom they feel need extra support to achieve within the normal school curriculum. We work closely with the students and their families to develop short term teaching and support plans.
Key aims of the Student Support Base are to:
- Promote inclusion, good behaviour and attendance
- Facilitate the work of support services
- Provide short term teaching and support plans
- Reintegrate pupils into mainstream school
